The festive season is a great time to promote yourself and let your clients know how much you appreciate them. There's no doubt that photographs make fabulous personal gifts, especially in a nice mat, frame or canvas. Personal touches, and adding value to packages, are good ways to have an impact without breaking the bank.

1. Give something away!

Everyone loves a freebie. This could be a loose or matted print, or even a Canvas. These items have relatively short turn-around times, so as long as you hold the giveaway far enough in advance, they will have them by Christmas time.

2. Create a card for your clients

The holidays are a great time to remind your clients that you are grateful for their support. It's a nice, personal touch and may also encourage business for the new year.

3. Add handwritten notes to orders you send out

Add a postcard-sized note to the orders you send out to clients. Perhaps include something you remember about the shoot day. Connect with your clients. Perhaps you have some branded stationery? Either way, "handwritten" is the key to the personal touch.

4. Plan your discounts and offers for the holiday season

It's a good idea to plan, in advance, any offers you might like to promote on your website and social media. You could offer a last-minute deal on prints, with links to personal client galleries. If you use Workspace your clients can order from galleries on your website and have print products sent directly to them. Easy!

A good incentive that might work for you is to hold a draw for everyone who gets their orders in by a certain date - with one lucky customer to get their order free. With enough potential shoppers that can be relatively cheap giveaway, but a powerful incentive to "act now"!

5. Share, share, share!

Share what your clients have been purchasing (with their permission, of course). Talk about the importance of print, how photographs are such meaningful gifts, and which short turn-around products make great last-minute gift choices. Do you offer albums? Share images and words about them where your clients can see, with a reminder they do need to act early to get their album for the holidays.
