Saying Yes to opportunities

As a photographer, Rachael Waring likes to collaborate with people who aren’t scared to be themselves. A big part of her work is staying present and supporting those around her with love. By savouring the day-to-day and saying "yes" to opportunity she has met and photographed Warren Buffett, Serena Williams, Amy Adams, Deepak Chopra, Diane von Furstenberg, David Beckham, Will I Am, Gordon Ramsay and Tom Hanks to name a few.

Samantha and Joseph were married at the Harding Allen Estate, and the groom had a few words to say about how he and Samantha met, the proposal, and some details about the special day.

"We felt it would be best to decorate with a 1920s touch so as to keep with the era the estate was built in. We incorporated vintage and classic accents into every detail. Nicole, a bridesmaid and my sister, hand-made Samantha's bouquet out of 1920s broaches she collected by visiting second-hand stores. It took her over a year to collect them all.

"I proposed to Sam by 'mailing' her an invitation to our own wedding. I walked to the mailbox and upon my return handed her the day's mail with our fake invitation/my proposal slipped in the middle. Needless to say she was quite shocked and a bit confused for a moment — until I got down on one knee and finally popped the question after eight years of dating.

"One of our favourite photos is of Sam’s grandfather walking her down the aisle. The shot from the back shows his broad, tall frame walking next to her, much as he had done when she was a little girl, walking her to the school bus. Another favourite was immediately following the ceremony, the two of us warmly tucked in the hydrangeas in each other's embrace."

"One of the more memorable moments was during our ceremony, when the groom was told to “kiss the officiant” - who is my wife's great uncle. The joke was so well delivered and unexpected it was the hardest we laughed that entire day."
