Things have a habit of creeping up on you, as our friends at Seldex have reminded us by sending an email to their clients reminding them that come July they won't be able to use Photojunction's cover design and Send Order functions. (We announced as much here back in February.) We've counted Seldex as friends for years – in fact they sold Queensberry albums in Australia back in the day! - so this is a rather sad time, the culmination of a process that started to unfold a couple of years ago when we realised that most suppliers weren't going to support PJ as a universal album design tool, which To View More >>

I just made a couple of new friends, Jeff and Erin Youngren from San Diego… And it took all of a couple of minutes. Stephen and Danny first met these guys at WPPI in Vegas, and we’ve been in touch ever since. You may remember our post about their new website and promo video so I asked them to share some of their experiences around online marketing, business and their album strategy.  But it was their philosophy, not only to business, but to life, that dominated the conversation. My clients would not dream of paying me $4000 for an empty photo album. Nor would they pay that for a book with somebody else’s photographs in it. Steve Sharp sent us this exceptional album to complete our series of posts with him. Steve shot Ben and Lauren's wedding in Taupo, New Zealand, a few weeks ago and designed them a 14x10 Queensberry Digital Album.  The couple initially committed to a 12-page album package, but Steve presented them with a 24-page album, pre-designed in Photojunction. Steve finds that most of his clients, when presented with a larger range of page designs and images, decide to include more pages in their album than they have initially pre-committed to.  Ben and Lauren have not yet finalised their album, but any To View More >>

The first thing you need in a wedding photographer is that they show up on the day. Simon Whitten gets from Venice to London under an ash cloud ... Thursday AM I am wrapped up in a honeymoon photo-shoot with clients in Venice when my phone rings: "Have you heard the news? - UK air space is being shutdown this evening from 7pm". Oh dear ... we are booked on a flight that afternoon to get back to the UK with a clear full day between our shoot in Venice and a wedding on the Saturday. The airline Jet2.com's website is useless, as are their emergency contact numbers. Not a single one of their phone To View More >>
