Made By Hand from Queensberry on Vimeo. Want to see what goes into making a Queensberry? We commissioned this brief movie as a way to say thank you to all the terrific people who make our albums … and who make us so proud. Johannes shot the images as he and I walked through the Queensberry Lab and Bindery one afternoon. The photography is all real and unstaged. Johannes created the video and set it to music by Amy Seeley, who has a lot of new fans. Thanks again to everyone involved, including the host of Queensberry photographers whose work you can glimpse along the way. Cheers, Ian PS If you To View More >>
Hello everyone! My name is Amanda and I'm the newest member of the Queensberry team. I've jumped on board to take part in our communications so chances are if you're engaging with us on Twitter or Facebook- it'll be me you're talking to! Being new around here I've had a lot to learn, one of the biggest things being the difference between Photojunction and Workspace. I thought it might be handy to outline some of their key differences that have helped me understand the functions of each. Hopefully my notes will help you too! That recent New York Times article caused a kerfuffle by highlighting the impact of digital imaging, photo sharing, stock photography etc. In a nutshell, how does a professional photographer survive and thrive when imagery is everywhere, and generally free or nearly so? Case in point... Our own Danny married Natalie recently. Needless to say they hired a photographer ... but if they hadn't? They have heaps of photos To View More >>
Prompted by constant requests for advice by new and aspiring photographers,US portrait photographer Cheryl Jacobs Nicolai wrote an article called, "What every aspiring photographer should know". I liked: Style is a voice, not a prop or an action. If you can buy it, borrow it, download it, or steal it, it is not a style. Don't look outward for your style; look inward. Learn that people photography is about people, not about photography. Great portraits are a side effect of a strong human connection. Read the full article here - noticed in GRINZ. When we added a pricing module to Queensberry Workspace, the last thing we expected was to have you ask us to bring back our old Excel calculator! It felt a bit like wanting to hand crank your car instead of use a newfangled electric starter, or our friends thinking that electric blankets in winter are for softies. Anyway thank you for speaking up, because we now understand why you liked them – and I think the outcome is pretty awesome. What we've done is replicate the old calculator online, so you can explore our entire range and see how prices are affected by the album size and cover material, To View More >>
