Several weeks ago, engaged couple Janet and Chip hit the streets of New York and the Museum of Natural History with their photographer Parris Whittingham for a pre-wedding  engagement session. After seeing their proofs of the shoot, the couple decided to commission two 9×9 matted albums as wedding gifts for their parents. Although a lot of you love our albums (us too!) we operate on the simple principle that you're running a business, and if you can't make money selling them you shouldn't buy them. But there's no doubt many photographers do struggle. Partly that's because they sell a la carte, and have persuaded themselves that their clients don't want albums. I don't buy it. We were delighted when Donal Doherty recently shared these beautiful pictures on his blog. (Full post here) Donal designed this 14x10 classic matted album for his clients Karen and Gary. They chose an embossed onyx micro leather cover with a page mount style inside, designed with black borders under a hand cut ivory mat. Emma Hughes designed these beautiful wedding albums for Maya & Will. The bride and groom chose a gorgeous 14x10 album with a leather 1/4 page photo front.  The photograph is printed on a metallic paper with a textured laminate applied which seals the image and makes it especially hard-wearing as a cover option. Maya liked a white page design and Will preferred the black page designs, so the album was created with alternating black and white pages.
