Marcus Bell is one of our long time friends, like when PJ Retro was the new big thing. When he's not busy running (the highly acclaimed and successful) Studio Impressions he's speaking at seminars and conferences. Marcus is running seminars in late February around Australia and New Zealand. A visit to one of the seminars will be well worth it, as Marcus will be "Sharing his knowledge and secrets from the last ten years, including The art of capturing emotive award winning Images, fine art printing, photoshop techniques and workflow. Creating images and products that sell themselves, plus much To View More >>
Since you're reading The Junction, you're probably pretty much up with the play on Photojunction, and this post won't apply to you. Here goes anyway. Maybe you can pass it on to a friend who needs it! Believe it or not there are still people out there using Photojunction Retro. If you don't know what Retro is, it's a very cool program that was state of the art five years ago, when it was replaced by Remix. All I can say is let it go. Just like Don Johnson's stubble and no socks policy in Miami Vice, it's had its day. The kindest thing you can do is put it down. Seriously, if you want up to date To View More >>
You’ve heard the saying about fitting square pegs in round holes? It can be very apt when it comes to choosing images for our Photo Front covers, especially the 1/4 Photo Front, as this screen shot from PJ Remix indicates – only a slice from the image will fit on the cover. If it won’t fit the space you’ll soon know: you'll need to choose a different cover style or find an image with a suitable To View More >>
Mac OSX Lion is exciting new software, but before you install it there are a few things to think about: 1. You'll lose access to all your old PowerPC applications. It's been six years since Apple transitioned to Intel processors, and with the introduction of OSX Lion you will no longer be able to run PowerPC based software. Rosetta kept the old software running pretty smoothly, so you could be in for a few surprises. For starters I had to upgrade Microsoft Office. Never thought of that! 2. Closer to home, you will no longer be able to run Photojunction Retro (yes, there are still a handful of To View More >>
I have a confession. Unlike a lot of our customers I'm relatively new to Photojunction. Luckily I work with a great team, so when required they make me look good. The cool thing is that I look at Photojunction and discover things about it daily that I didn't know. There are features that are a little hidden. It's a bit of a shame, really, that they aren't more obvious, because usually they do something that can change the way you work for the better. So I thought it would be nice to share our ten favorite buttons (in no particular order). 1. Open templates in new window Place your cursor over To View More >>
