Ashley Loh and Chad Mumm were married at Sodo Park in Seattle on August 20th this year. They were photographed by Laurel McConnell. Ashley's style was romantic, she had her grandmother’s broach re-purposed into a handmade birdcage veil and also wore a really stylish silk belt. And Chad was very James Bond in his tux! The venue was beautiful and historic - set in the heart of the industrial district. Their decor was romantic yet rustic, with herbs for the boutonnieres and eucalyptus candles scenting the room. They even had signature cocktails concocted just for them by a well known New York To View More >>

Heather and I have been in Penang for a few days, "recharging our creative juices". But what does that mean? Creativity is like happiness. You can't reach out and grab it directly, although we do believe that getting out of your comfort zone (I couldn't think of another cliché, sorry) – and sleeping a lot – both help. We're staying in old George Town. It was declared a Unesco World Heritage site in 2008, as the locals are proud to tell us. They're also proud that Jimmy Choo was born into a family of local shoemakers, and apprenticed to a little shop just a few metres from where we're staying To View More >>

We like to say “We’re local” wherever we do business, but this story is as local as you can get… When we asked our regular clients to complete a survey, we promised a free album to one lucky respondent. We couldn’t believe it when the winner was a New Zealander, Liz March, from our own hometown! In fact she used to work not a mile from the Bindery. When we asked Liz to introduce herself to our readers, this is what she wrote: “About ten years ago I was working as an art teacher at a full immersion Maori school in Glen Eden. Some of you have noticed that our recently discontinued cover materials have disappeared from PJ Remix, and asked what's going on. Fair enough too. We haven't been as clear about it as we should, and we apologise for not explaining this earlier. Although some cover materials have gone from PJ Remix, it doesn't necessarily mean we can't supply them. In fact our policy is, if possible, to make them available for two years after removing them from our swatch book. So how do you order them in PJ Remix? It's fairly simple... 1) Choose 'Other' in the Cover Material options. 2) Then click 'Add Note' To View More >>

How do you know what size and shape to make an album cover image? How do you account for the aspect ratio and cover wrap-around (the part of the image you can't see)? If it sounds hard, it's not. Just design the cover in PJ Remix. It's exactly like designing pages only easier. You can see the aspect ratio and the wrap-around. And problems rarely occur because it's so obvious when images don't fit. We've already blogged about album covers, especially here and here, so we won't repeat ourselves. If you're not sure how to send us the image there's a link about that too. To View More >>
