Hello dears, I listened to the webinar this morning while I was baking scones and I thought Danny and Nigel did very well (even my nephew Ian was OK, although I have to say that because he's family). Very bravely they asked people what they thought of the Problem Reporter, and a lot of people said it drove them nuts! It was nice of them to admit it (even though it hurts this old soul's feelings) and I expect that's why they came along, but they did say the webinar was a lot of help. In fact it was lovely how people responded when Danny popped up with lots of things to make the pain go away - no, To View More >>

What made this wedding extra special for US photographer Andy Donnan was that it was the wedding of his grandmother - aged 83. Ruth and Jerry wanted to keep things simple and low-key, and other than the Pastor, Andy and his girlfriend were the only guests present. Andy says, "My grandmother raised me since I was a baby. I read Ian's post yesterday and thought he had some really good points, but I wanted to add to the discussion by drilling down another layer to ask, "Who is the man you are selling to?" Listen to people talk and you'd think only two people are involved in buying an album—the bride and her mother. But what happens if the person making the decisions is the guy? How do you sell to him? Well it's been a while since I got married but I'm a guy … let me think: If the first time you think about me is when you finally realise that I'm blocking your sale, too late! You needed to start paying attention a lot earlier. But let's start at that point anyway, and work backwards… 1. If you ignore me while doing that sales job on my girl I'm probably not going to be happy. There's been To View More >>

My recent email suggested that if you can't name five things that differentiate you there is probably only one - price! Not a good look. Among the responses was this one: I'm so sick of working harder and not smarter with the middle to lower end. I want to start all over again and aim at the high end of the market with the best products and service. I have never done an album before. I made the decision to specialise in babies, children and family portraiture. I can visualise beautiful portrait albums sitting on my coffee table in the studio, but I don’t know where to start. Albums are not the To View More >>
