SEARCH RESULTS FOR: Opportunities
Our wedding photographer lives so far away that opportunities to meet in person are very few. Over the weekend though, he was in town and arranged to catch up with us. It was our first official meeting. And it went well... First, he called and asked if we'd like to meet. Now we feel important. He told us funny stories about weddings he's shot. Now we're relaxed. He asked us what we wanted. Now we know what we'll be getting. He told us where he'd like to shoot us. Now we know what to expect. He told us how to look natural. Now we know what to do. He showed us lots of slideshows. Now Kayla wants To View More >>
Well not always, and she hasn't said it that way ... but Ida does often "change" before she goes out in public. How is it that dressing your children can have so many possibilities and attract so much attention? Jo prefers things that "go together". I like things that make a statement about the day. I imagine that I am Ida and wonder what she would choose if she hadn't yet realised that you can't wear stripes with spots and didn't even know how to say, let alone spell, "fashion disaster". Maybe I am wrong and maybe she does realise. One day she will tell me how I ruined her life (as only teenagers To View More >>
There are dozens of album design tools on the market, and almost none of them can be used to free-design matted albums. The exceptions are PJ and two others. A few more have workarounds where you drag and drop images on to templates that match pre-designed mats ... but that's hardly creative. Why do so few programs have this ability? First, it's quite hard. ;) Hard to create a layout on the fly, and simultaneously capture all the data to create both the prints and the mat. And hard, when you've got the data, to ensure that the resulting layout meets all the album vendor's requirements ... and To View More >>
Our UK Account Rep, Jo Newman, emailed me today: I thought you might use Mark's comments as an opportunity to talk more about our plans to XXXXXX XX XXX XXXXXXXX . [Sorry - Ed] I was a bit disappointed when I saw your second post about Mark's comments. It didn't mention marketing at all :) In fact I've had a few comments and quite a few emails talking about our brand strategy over the last few days. And Robert emailed me weeks ago saying I should be stressing branding more and pricing less: if photographers don't "foster an expectation consistent with their pricing level" they're fighting To View More >>
[caption id="attachment_2679" align="alignnone" width="500" caption="Click on the images to view them larger"][/caption] We often talk about albums catching our eye... This one by Josef Isayo certainly did. He shot Porsche and Adam's wedding in early 2007. The couple, two ER doctors from San Francisco, came to Josef and asked him to shoot their wedding in Cuixmala, Mexico- an opportunity many photographers strive for. But as an experienced destination photographer who's shot several weddings in Mexico, Josef knows it's no walk in the park - you've got to be prepared. I asked Josef to share To View More >>
