Jo de Banzie photographed this series entitled 'Dreamers' for internationally renowned jewellery designer Sophie Harley. "Mixing and layering precious metals and stones, Sophie’s pieces are magical - full of stories and secrets. We created ethereal images to communicate these qualities" says Jo, "and all the images were shot on location in London (yes, all of it shot in London!)". Modelled by Sarah Palmer, with make-up by Chloe McCall. Here are a few layouts from this 10x10 Press Book, printed on Nettuno page stock. Click here to view more of Jo de Banzie's work. Click here to watch on Vimeo. I've never met Crash Taylor, but I've been looking forward to interviewing him because of this endearing habit he has of poking his head above the parapet and getting shot at. As in this post, for example, which I published because he was nice enough to call Queensberry "the Tiffany of wedding albums". I didn't mean to buy into a storm, but I did anyway – as you can see from the post comments. You can read the full brouhaha on DWF if you're keen. For the record, I think it's hard to argue with "cheap publicity" (is there any other kind?) and when I spoke to him To View More >>
Today is our 16th wedding anniversary. Today, I bring out our wedding album and indulge in the enjoyable recollection of the beginning of OUR love story. I revisit with those who were with us on the day, and remember those who aren't with us now. Our wedding album gets more and more precious as the years go on. I know he still loves me. How? He still turns my light off. He knows I still love him because I stroke his hand... sometimes :-) Love, Sonya To View More >>
As a little girl I loved photographs. My Mum had a big box of them. I'd spend ages playing with the images, stacking, sorting, studying the people and places (even the photos taken by my Nana, who always managed to cut people's heads off when capturing the moment). My destiny was to somehow end up working with images. So I meet this guy called Stephen … it turns out his family business makes beautiful photograph albums … I marry him :) How cool is my job? Every day I get to see beautiful love stories. How can you not be a happy person when that's the business you're in? Love, Sonya Something To View More >>
It's not all about "strategy". When young @stephenbaugh was working at Fuji Xerox a very successful colleague had this advice for him: There are three rules if you want to succeed in sales: 1. Get yourself in plenty of debt - it motivates you to go out the door in the morning ;) 2. Don't let anybody see the fear in your eyes. If you're so scared of losing this piece of business, people will wonder why … are you unsuccessful? 3. Build a relationship with the prospect. Is there a personality fit? Nothing else matters until you do, and a bad relationship doesn't work for you or the prospect. Check To View More >>
