I was talking to Pete at the lab who said we’ve had an influx of album design orders recently. Pete's a funny guy and he said that in some orders the client was even sending "the kitchen sink", a bit of Kiwi humour that denotes one who is going a bit over the top. As it happens a lot of new people have been trying the service as a result of a special we ran, and a few have sent us several hundred images to put in an album with maybe 15 pages. They’re obviously expecting us to select the images for the album, so we thought maybe a post on how we work might make it easier for you. A few years ago we used to pick images if people did this, but it was fraught for both the client and us. We would get many, many edit requests back, and comments such as, "I don't know why you didn't use image X, it's my favourite". We suggest the following. Send only the images you want in the album. We work on roughly a 6 image per layout for the entire album. Obviously we might design one layout with two and another ten. You can send using either Photojunction or Workspace. You tell us which images you would like in your album by placing them in a collection. You could use the built-in ‘favourites’ or make a new one for ‘album’. Up to you – the software will ask which one before you place the order. Some people like to include a few extras to give us some leeway, but remember we charge for all images sent. In Photojunction you can place a star on images that are your hero shots. Any questions? Get back to us. We’re here to help. Best, Heather
