Prompted by constant requests for advice by new and aspiring photographers,US portrait photographer Cheryl Jacobs Nicolai wrote an article called, "What every aspiring photographer should know". I liked: Style is a voice, not a prop or an action. If you can buy it, borrow it, download it, or steal it, it is not a style. Don't look outward for your style; look inward. Learn that people photography is about people, not about photography. Great portraits are a side effect of a strong human connection. Read the full article here - noticed in GRINZ. Sharon and Dave were married on an early spring afternoon at the beautiful location of Jonah's Whale Beach in Sydney's famously picturesque Northern Beaches. Their photographer Luke Butterly from LB Photography says that "as a couple they're very easy going and the wedding was happy and laid back. We were delighted when Donal Doherty recently shared these beautiful pictures on his blog. (Full post here) Donal designed this 14x10 classic matted album for his clients Karen and Gary. They chose an embossed onyx micro leather cover with a page mount style inside, designed with black borders under a hand cut ivory mat. Karen and Gary also ordered two parent albums as well, which are smaller, digital copies of the main album. We love the results! Thanks for sharing your beautiful work with us Donal :) To View More >>

Not only do we work in an industry that values the physical, but it's an important reminder of how easily our memories can be lost if we're not careful with them. I shared the video with Heather, which opened up an interesting discussion. "The printed image and the written word are the only way to directly access the past," she says. "We have family images captured on slides, but now it's hard to find a projector for them. Same for 8mm movie projectors. Tape VCRs To View More >>
