SEARCH RESULTS FOR: Order Processing
Sorry, false advertising - that's as raunchy as this blog post is going to get. We don't have much in shades of grey, but our albums come in colours and fabrics of all sorts – whites and blacks, reds and golds, blues and greens, and more. But just two shades of grey. Something I love about workspace is that when you're ordering an album, everything is visual. You can see the sizes and shapes, and the images are so clear and accurate you can almost smell and feel the leather (I'm getting carried away again). So, no need for shades of grey. The whole process is black and white. Cheers, Pete A To View More >>
I was talking to Simon, one of our album layout designers, about how the team were finding the new Workspace album proofing feature. They've been using it with photographers for a few months now and I was keen to get his feedback. What follows is pretty much his response verbatim. "It's working brilliantly! We get to review the studio’s comments alongside the relevant layouts. It’s accurate and clear to follow. "Not having to interpret requests for edits in emails is a real bonus. The integrated communication between the studio, bride and groom, and designer keeps everybody in the loop, and To View More >>
In the context of professional people photography here are a few things that surprise and puzzle us. How often the images are released from the studio before the sale is finalised. How the album planning/sales process can take months, sometimes years. How there's often no attempt to up-sell after the event. How the album is treated as a cost, not a marketing tool. How album planning is treated as an obligation not an opportunity. How studios go with the crowd, instead of standing out from it. None of those maximise your opportunities, and there are probably less of those to go round right now. To View More >>
Don't tell those Apple fanboys but Philip and I spend a fair bit of time on Windows. We've been testing a few things and found something that may help you PC users out there. If you've found uploading from your PC to Workspace (or other sites) is very slow, then read on. Go into your virus protection and firewall, and add these two sites as "exceptions": uploader.queensberry.com workspace.queensberry.com We're not suggesting that you turn off virus protection, just to "trust us"! Making our sites exceptions will stop your virus protection and firewalls from screening each file as you try to upload To View More >>
The feature that everyone has been calling out for has arrived. Everyone knows that if you stick images online people will want to cut you out of the loop and copy them to their desktops. Well, they say it's better to be pirated than ignored, but we still don't like it, so how can Workspace stop this happening to you? First, a while ago we programmed Workspace to not allow the right-click copy and paste function. But the big deal is our new Watermark feature. All you need to do is upload a watermark and apply it to your images. Where to start? First, design your watermark in Photoshop. The proxies To View More >>
