Hello dears! Those youngsters at Queensberry are very sweet, but sometimes I think they only let me talk to you when there's something that they'd rather not say themselves. I was in vacuuming this morning when Sonya skyped me (yes, I may be 76 but I do have the interweb!) and said there are a few people who don't understand why Photojunction has a problem reporter. They say it's frustrating and they don't think it benefits them at all. Sonya I said, you're a lovely young lady, and I'm rather busy – why don't you tell them yourself? Well it was your idea, Nanny, she said, and besides you have To View More >>

How do you reference your album orders in Photojunction? If you want the reference on all the paperwork/emails (including Photojunction) regarding an album order to be your clients' names (for example), that's what you need to enter into the Your Reference box during the Album Setup stage. Whatever you input under Your Reference is what comes through to us, and is then assigned to your order. Being specific and having a formula is really important for both of us. Turns out there's a certain stigma attached to the word 'free'. Take a conversation I overheard this morning. A photographer was talking about how they really like the look of Photojunction but was avoiding downloading because, quote, "Although it says free, nothing is ever free." This conversation reminded me of a post Ian wrote about this time last year titled, "F.r.e.e".  In light of this morning's conversation, I thought I'd resurrect part of it which explains why we give Photojunction away free, and why there's no catch... So… why? What’s the catch? Well, we’re building a community To View More >>

It's that time of year when we take stock, make resolutions and ask questions ... like how can we make this year a winner? Are there too many photographers? Why do we ask our competitors for advice? What can we learn from musicians? And the big one: How much are our images worth? Sadly, that's not just about how good they are or how much time we spend on them in post-production. Our latest client newsletter is below. Let us know what you think by leaving a comment here or emailing Ian directly. Cheers, Nigel How much are your images worth? We received this present from our design consultants, To View More >>

"Previously we were offering albums we knew our competitors were also offering, but we’ve realised we can use the album to separate us from our competitors." That quote from Nigel's interview with the Youngrens reflects Queensberry's key message to photographers and it got me thinking... A while ago I posted about album companies in trouble – and not hitching your own wagon to dying stars. Today I'm suggesting you be wary of the latest and greatest too ;) In the US and UK markets of 2000, Queensberry albums were revolutionary because we hand-made every album to order. That meant photographers, To View More >>
