Photojunction ran an interesting post a day or two ago. Danny referenced a report from theweddingreport.com that spending on wedding photography in the US may be in decline. It prompted Sonya to mention anecdotal reports that UK photographers, also, may be in for a rough ride for a while – bookings down etc. Yes, times may be tougher next year. If they get tough for you, we’re concerned and sympathetic. Bad stuff happens in business, and if you’re affected, we are too. But... Don’t sabotage your long-term business in order to survive! What do I mean? Queensberry has always stressed the To View More >>
Now that so many of our albums are printed and assembled right here, our staff love checking them out as they pass through the assembly process. One that made waves all the way down the line was Dilip and Anchel’s wedding in Toronto, Canada, photographed by Manpreet Sokhi of Mansa Photography. Anchel Ghai and Dilip Krishna were engaged in August, 2006 and married on May 5, 2007. The couple were married in a traditional South Indian Hindu wedding as per the groom’s family's traditions. I see the Druids are celebrating the sun at Stonehenge, but Down South 21 June is the shortest day. Not that we have much to complain about. We don't even get frosts in Titirangi (loosely "fringe of heaven" in Maori) but it's sure cold in the wind and shade. Hopefully it's the shortest day for the economy too. The worst of Winter may still be ahead – the moneymen (and some of us) screwed up, and the consequences are still playing out ... but To View More >>
We owe a big thank you to all the people who completed our survey recently. We had a great response, and we thought you'd like to know the outcome. There were two major surprises, as you'll see. 1. We listed all the vendors whose resources we distribute, and asked you to tell us which companies you use. People named an average of two companies each, and some people named several. 2. Over a third named Queensberry as one of their suppliers, but the first big surprise was that 40% of respondents wrote in the name of a company whose resources we don't offer. In fact we discovered that PJ is used To View More >>
As promised in our recent post about the Photojunction Welcome screen, I wanted to take some extra time to go over the Browse tab with some suggestions to maybe make your workflow smoother. The first column is your Client column. This seems fairly self-explanatory right? In column 2 your clients could have multiple Events. For example, an engagement shoot, wedding, day-after session, maternity shoot, newborn shoot, and then family shoot. Wouldn't it be wonderful if every client were booking that many shoots? Each event can then have multiple Products (column 3). For a wedding, you might create To View More >>
