Meet Dave and Alianor, a tattoo artist from Atlanta, and a Catholic girl from Michigan. Tim Will shot their wedding in Atlanta last year. I could tell you about how the bridal party smoked and drank heavily before the ceremony, or that they carried guns with their names inscribed on the handles, or that the bride married in black. But I won't. Tim's images can do the talking... Instead, I'd rather highlight this album as a great example of how an anything-but-traditional wedding can fit so beautifully into a Queensberry. We're proud that our albums are so flexible and diverse. And that our album To View More >>
We asked one of our print consultants about their commitment to sustainability a few days ago, and they were rather puzzled by the question. "But of course," they said. "It goes without saying doesn't it? Sustainable plantation paper ... ECF processing ... vegetable-based inks. We don't beat the drum about it, that's just the way it is these days." We feel the same way, but we're regularly asked the same question, so here's Queensberry's philosophy on the environment and sustainability... Humanity's biggest impact on the environment is generally from our daily practices. That coffee is gone To View More >>
Tom Waits has a cranky, croaky voice. I am listening to his CD 'Orphans Brawlers and Bastards' as I write this post. You could argue that his voice lacks 'quality' ... The words are often run together, mumbled, and broken. That collection of imperfections is the quality that makes his work so unique. It's a different type of 'quality' to the one we describe to sell our albums. We talk about the personal elements in the creation of the book. We talk proudly of the craft involved and the quality of the raw materials used in the album construction. We do this because we are proud of their perfections To View More >>
In their vows they used the word 'forever', or possibly 'until death us do part'. Of course they weren't talking about their wedding album. But as a reflection of that fabulous day, where they promised everything to each other, you would surely expect their album to align with their personal version of 'forever'. We sell this idea to our clients. We tell them that this is why we use Queensberry. Longevity is a double edged sword. Longevity refers to the physical life of the album and its contents. It also refers to the enduring nature of the design and imagery. Read as 'simple is good'. We talk To View More >>
Hi All We're in the *studio* a lot at the moment. Here's a tour of PJ Remix from our strategic point of view ( 6 mins instead of 20! ). We touch on ideas and concepts important to us. 1. User Experience - it's gotta be cool, fun, and easy to use. 2. Pragmatic - it's gotta work, gotta be productive. 3. Integrate - it's gotta know about your lab and album vendor. We'd love to hear what you think of our ideas... You'll get more out of the higher quality video IMHO. Higher Quality Lower Quality Cheers Danny To View More >>
